Merchant Roads is a single-player medieval trading adventure that puts you in charge of a travelling caravan. Buy low, sell high, survive the open road and grow from a lone trader into a wealthy merchant master in this richly detailed HTML5 simulation game.
Trade your way across a living medieval world. The game features a shifting economy spread across 12 towns in four different biomes, from mountain settlements and coastal ports to wide plains and a busy capital. With 23 connected roads to travel, every journey is a decision: which goods to carry, which route to take, and how much risk you are willing to accept.
Dynamic Trading and Economy
Deal in a wide range of goods, including grain, timber, furs, wool, livestock, clay, fish, salt, iron ore and crafted tools and weapons. Prices move with each town’s prosperity, reputation and local events, while a buy-and-sell spread and gradual spoilage reward careful planning and fast, well-timed trips. Watch out for overpriced offers and sales taxes that can eat into your profits.
Travel, Bandits and a Living World
Your caravan moves in real time along curved roads, with travel times and danger levels that vary by route. Visible bandit groups roam the map, giving you the choice to fight, pay a bribe, surrender goods or flee. Faction wars can close routes and send prices soaring, while festivals, famines, guild activity and rival merchants keep the world changing around you. A full day-and-night cycle adds further variety to every trip.
Towns, Crew and Business Growth
In town you can trade at the market, invest in workshops such as smithies and breweries for daily income, hire guards, rest your crew, gamble at the tavern, or use the bank for deposits, loans and letters of credit. Keep your people fed and morale high, because starvation and low spirits can end your run. Extra caravans and property investments create passive income alongside your active trading.

Earn experience from profitable trades and sales, level up to increase your cargo capacity, and build town reputation to unlock better prices. An interactive tutorial walks new players through the first steps, and automatic plus manual saves let you pick up your journey at any time.
