Let subscribers join or leave your lists by email

MailWizz EMA – Subscribe by email is a practical extension for MailWizz EMA that removes the need for subscribers to visit a website or log in just to manage a subscription. Instead, people can subscribe or unsubscribe simply by sending an email to a designated address with the right subject line, making list management quicker and more convenient for everyone.

How it works

The extension uses email piping: incoming messages are forwarded to a PHP script that reads the request and updates the matching subscriber list in MailWizz EMA. A subscribe request adds the sender to the list, while an unsubscribe request removes them, so lists stay current without manual edits.

Key features

• Subscribe and unsubscribe from email lists by sending an email
• Customizable email addresses for subscribe and unsubscribe requests
• Flexible subject lines, including list-specific subjects using the list unique ID
• Automatic list updates based on incoming emails
• Clear instructions shown in the customer area for each email list
• Seamless integration with MailWizz EMA for email marketing
• Support for both simple subject-based requests and address-based requests using the list ID

Why it helps your email marketing

By lowering the effort needed to join a list, this extension can help grow your audience and keep subscribers engaged. It also automates routine list maintenance, freeing time for campaigns, content, and other marketing work, while giving subscribers a straightforward way to opt out when they choose.

Installation and setup

Installation follows the included extension guide, which walks through the email piping setup step by step. Configuration covers the addresses and subject lines used for subscribe and unsubscribe requests, and the customer area displays the correct instructions for each list so subscribers know exactly what to send.

Who this is for

This extension suits MailWizz EMA users, email marketers, agencies, and site owners who want a simple, email-only way for people to manage their subscriptions without extra forms, logins, or manual list handling.
